usagi home rabbit boarding

💡 IMPORTANT

All Usagi (Rabbits) are required to be on preventive parasitic medication such as Revolution (Selamectin) or Dr. Bunny Promedi Anti-Parasitic Drops before arrival.

At drop-off, we will conduct a health check. Please ensure that your rabbit is in good health and free from any illness prior to check-in.

Stress is inevitable when boarding or traveling with rabbits, especially if it's their first time in such an environment. Because of this, we require bunny parents to bring at least one (1) item that belongs to their rabbit such as a small stuffed toy, pillow, the owner's used clothing, or any familiar toy — to help them feel more comfortable.

1. Boarding & Care

Usagi Home provides a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for rabbits while their owners are away. All enclosures come with a litter-box with wood pellets, food & water bowl, hideout tunnel, and a playball toy.

We provide:

  • Daily photo and video updates sent through Viber or Instagram group chat, usually in the afternoon and evening
  • 24/7 CCTV surveillance
  • Daily litter box cleaning and enclosure sanitation using non-toxic, veterinary-grade F10 disinfectant
  • Fresh hay, pellets, and drinking water replenished every day (food provided by the bunny parent)
  • Fresh vegetables provided when available and appropriate for your rabbit's diet (or bring your own)
  • Ongoing monitoring of eating habits, droppings, activity level, and general behavior throughout the day
  • Well-ventilated boarding area to help keep rabbits comfortable
  • Individualized care based on each rabbit's routine, diet, and special needs
  • Basic emergency response protocol, including immediate owner notification if any health concerns arise
  • Clean and rabbit-safe environment designed to support rest, comfort, and wellbeing

Owners must inform Usagi Home of:

  • Any special dietary requirements or food sensitivities
  • All medications required and their dosing instructions
  • Any existing or recent health conditions

Usagi Home reserves the right to decline boarding for rabbits that appear seriously ill, exhibit highly aggressive behavior, or are unable to support themselves independently.

2. Check-In & Check-Out

4. Payment & Refund Policy

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your reservation. The remaining balance is due upon check-in. No refunds are given for early pick-ups, shortened stays, or unused nights. Any additional services such as veterinary care, transport, medications, or special handling will be charged separately. Booking extensions are subject to availability and must be paid in advance. Additional fees will apply for late check-out, early check-in, or damages.

Requests to modify booking dates must be made in advance and are subject to availability. Approved changes may be applied to the existing reservation; however, previously paid deposits remain non-refundable. Usagi Home reserves the right to decline rescheduling requests, especially during peak periods or fully booked dates. Failure to arrive on the scheduled check-in date without prior notice may result in cancellation of the reservation and forfeiture of the deposit.

5. Medical Disclaimer & Emergency Protocol

We are experienced in rabbit care and have taken care of different kinds of rabbits and other exotic pets since 2013, but we are NOT veterinarians.

  • We will attempt to contact the owner immediately in the event of illness or injury.
  • If the owner cannot be reached and the situation is life-threatening, we will transport the rabbit to the nearest available rabbit-savvy veterinarian. All associated costs are the owner's responsibility.
  • Our medical supplies on standby: EmerAid Sustain Herbivore Recovery Food Mint, Restime Simeticone (Baby gas drops), Meloxicam, MSD Panacur Rabbit Wormer, Nebulizer* and Vetericyn wound spray.
  • Unwell rabbits will be quarantined in a separate 1m x 1m enclosure to prevent the spread of illness.

*Use of Saline Solution for nebulization will be charged to the owner per bottle.

Usagi Home is NOT a veterinary clinic. We strongly recommend consulting your vet before boarding if your rabbit has any known health concerns.

6. Right to Decline or Terminate Service

Usagi Home reserves the right to decline or terminate boarding at any time if a rabbit's health or behavior poses a risk to our staff, other resident rabbits, or the rabbit itself. The owner will be notified immediately in such cases.

7. Photo / Video Consent and Privacy

Owners will be given photo, video, and CCTV access for updates and monitoring. Screenshots or recordings must NOT be posted or shared if they show staff, property, or other usagi boarder/s without consent.

8. Death Policy

In the unfortunate event a rabbit passes away during its stay with us, we will contact the owner as promptly as possible. The owner assumes full responsibility for making arrangements for the rabbit's remains. The rabbit will be treated with dignity and care until the owner is reached.

9. Pet Abandonment

Pet abandonment is both unlawful and unethical. If a rabbit is not collected within 7 days after the agreed check-out date and no communication is received from the owner, the rabbit will be deemed abandoned. Usagi Home reserves the right to take necessary action, including working with a rabbit rescue group to facilitate the rehoming.
